For Janet Glaser, enjoyed talking with you about old Albert Hill days. I found you in the graduation picture

from Hill located in the photo memories section in this website. I am dead center in the first row, Andy Leake is

two rows directly behind me. You are directly behind Andy over his right shoulder! Marilee Peyton is to Andy's right and Tommy Grizzard is to Andy's left. Butch Craft is looking over Andy's right shoulder and Betsy Brooks is standing next to you on your left. Knew I could find you! I must be getting old. I could only identify 90% of  the people in the picture from June, 1961. See you in less than 10 yrs at next reunion. Mel

WOW, What a great weekend. Sally, you and the committee really created an outstanding experience at each of the events. Loved having the CD to play while riding around town. Enjoyed the opportunities to reconnect with friends from the past. Already looking forward to the next reunion.

To Sally and the entire Reunion Committee:

What a fantastic weekend!  Thank you for all of your hard work to make our weekend anything but hard work.  I know that not everyone lasted until Sunday, but I think everyone will want to know that those who did make it to Padow's lingered to savor the experience as long as possible.  I think that typified the spirit of the weekend!  Again, many thanks!

I cannot say enough about the weekend.  It exceeded my expectations.  I wish to give special thanks to Sally, Irv, Pen, and whoever handled the music CD.  The banquest was phenomenal.  I greatly enjoyed the other casual actitivites because they lent themselves to interacting with others.  My recollection of TJ classmates was greatest among those who attended the same classes as myself.  Strangely people like Buddy, Bob, Jim, Margaret, and Maud are most remembered by me from the Mary Mundford days.

Withe the help of Microsoft an alphabetical list of the reunion committee appears below.  I have volunteered at events and appreciate the complexity, time commitment, attention to details, and painstaking coordination involved.

THANK YOU REUNION COMMITTEE!!!!!

Who knew a fifty year reunion would be so great? Thanks to Sally, Willie, Les and the entire reunion committee. They demonstrated the axiom I learned in the army. The seven P's. Prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance! Let's do it again in 5 years! Ten years and everyone will have walkers and wheelchairs. A note to Rick Bigelow,  how the hell can you have a CD of the songs of high school in the early 60's without

the Isley Brothers "Shout, Parts 1 and 2?" Seriously, thanks for bringing back some memories. Mel

Ditto to all of the kudos above! All of which proves the Class of '64 was and is full of bright, witty, loving, creative and blessed people. We (including my Class of '61, Festus, Missouri High School husband) had a fantastic party weekend.

Hope to see you again in five years!

Meanwhile, what are some ideas for Viking Fund projects?

Does anyone on the committee living in Richmond have access to an extra one of the red and white TJ baseball caps given out at the reunion? I got home without mine and would gladly drive to Richmond to pick another up. Thanks a bunch, Barbara

I posted this on October 18 ... Sorry to have missed the reunion ...

"I had a wonderful conversation with Mrs. Thayer recently.  As I explained to her, I have been working hours and hours both in the field and administratively (hobbled by foot surgery a few weeks ago) with the search for missing UVa student Hannah Graham.  I can report, with mixed emotins, that human remains were found today that await examination for confirmation.  I would have liked to see you all.  Hope you understand."

I have been involved with the Albemarle County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue unit for several years, and with the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) since 2003.  Both were called out over the past five weeks during the search.

Christian,

Thanks so much for your efforts in helping to locate Hannah Graham's remains. It takes a special type of person who gives so much selfless service to causes like this one. Although the final outcome was not what we hoped for, I'm certain that the Graham family feels indebted to all of those like yourself, who worked tirelessly over the past 5 weeks to bring Hannah home. While we regret not seeing you at this reunion, I'm confident that our most generous God will allow you to attend the next one. Please stay involved on the website for news about other TJ Class of '64 events that may be planned in the future.

God Bless You and Your CERT Team.

Very respectfully,

Tom Stephen

i am so proud of our commitee, especially with me, i did everything, nobody did anything. i want to congradulate me for doing a wonderful job. all BS aside, i could not have ask for a better bunch of people to work with. it is like having a new family. i wish everyone in the committee a wonderful life and enjoy what we have, and not what we do not have. again i am so proud to be a 64 TJ student, especially i miss all of our classmates that i passed away, but they will be in everyones hearts until we meet them up in the TJ class of 64 in heaven

What a great reunion weekend!!!! It was awesome that so many people attended. My only regret is that in spite of four events, I still missed talking to many people. Let's get together again quickly so we can ALL catch up!!     I've gotten lots of nice comments about pictures I've posted. Thanks. However, surely I'm not the only classmate who has lots of pictures (old and new) that we would all enjoy. Please continue to use this website and please post pictures!  I echo the comments by many that "The Committee" did a spectacular job organizing the reunion and the website! Thanks so much!!!! To all classmates, please keep in touch!                                                Dave Riley

To everyone of the TJ class of 1964 who remembers Marilyn Southall. I sent an email just before the reunion. I didn't hear from her for about 3 weeks and thought she had forgotten me. Well, it seems she had a good reason not to attend the reunion. The night of our dance on the 18th, she had emergency triple bypass surgery!  I know what she is going through because in the last five months my wife has had (1) bacteria infection went septic and put her heart in afib(2) a thought to be malignant kidney tumor in July turned out to be benign after surgery(3)day home from hospital for kidney surgery she fell and broke her wrist in 5 places(4)cardioversion to put her back into regular rhythm and (5) fall at restaurant and broke her hip, thus putting her back in afib! Needless to say, this is why I didn't go to the big dance because my girl needed me more.Anyway, please say hello to Marilyn and let her know you are thinking about her and praying for her. Please say a few prayers  for my girl Linda also. Rev. Frank, please do the thing you do so well and include both my wife and Marilyn in your prayers. Peace be with you. Mel

Mel, So sorry to hear about all you and Linda's problems, along with Marilyn's problems. We missed you at the reunion. You guys get well and we'll all hope for better times. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Rev. Frank Leslie Bersch, Jr.

Howdy, Mel, and thanks for sharing the info on your wife, Linda, and classmate, Marilyn. I'm glad we have the privilege of prayer, which CHRIST JESUS taught we should always do, and never give up. HE said that nothing is too hard for HIM, and we can cast all of our cares on HIS shoulders, and HE will carry us through every trial that comes our way, by HIS Mighty Power! Our agreement for our HEAVENLY FATHER's Perfect Will being done, on Earth, as It is in HEAVEN, is part of the Blessed Assurance received with the HOLY SPIRIT! AMEN! HALLELUJAH! AGAPE! Rev."Frank"
